Hex Bolts are bolt fasteners with six sided hexagon head and externally threaded body. Hexagonal head profile enables easy wrenching while putting enough torque to the bolting joint. Hex bolts are used with hex nuts or a tapped hole. Hexagon head bolts, Hex machine bolts are other alias of Hex bolts. Hex bolts, or hex cap screws, are large bolts with a six-sided head used to fasten wood to wood, or metal to wood. Hex bolts are hex headed fasteners with external machine screw threads and differ from hex machine bolts by having a washer surface on the underside or bearing side of the head and a chamfered thread end. Hex bolts have tighter dimensional tolerances than bolts. Metric hex bolts are specified by various DIN, ISO and JIS standards.
